Cat Insurance

Cat insurance is wonderful if you're a cat, and perhaps not so wonderful if you're a cat owner with a tight budget. We'll try to ease the headache if you're the latter, so that you can keep the former protected. But first - aren't cats just the greatest pets? (If you're not so sure about that, kindly visit our dog health insurance page!)

Okay, let's be serious. Insuring your furry feline friend might cost you hundreds of dollars per year even without the cat having any serious medical problems. Then again, human health insurance premiums are typically quite a bit more expensive than cat premiums - after all, when was the last time you hear of a cat needing a heart transplant or staying in a hospital bed for several years?

If you are intent on finding the best bang for your cat's coverage costs, the first site we suggest that you visit is PetInsurance.com, the website for the Veterinary Pet Insurance company, or VPI. VPI is probably the first major American pet insurance company, having offered cheap coverage for all kinds of pets, including cats, since 1980. Because of the way VPI's plans are set up, you can simply adjust your cat's coverage to fit your personal preferences and needs. Hundreds of thousands of cat owners are already insuring their cats through VPI. We suggest that you check out VPI first before you try other feline insurers on for size.

Another good place you can look for reliable cat protection is PetsHealthPlan.com. With their plan, you pay $100 per year in return for an 80 percent reimbursement on all your cat's medical costs (well, there are surely some exceptions, but you can see the fine print when you visit the site).

Because insuring your beloved Felix or Fluffy can cost thousands of dollars over the course of the cat's life, you might want to consider just saving that money instead of handing it over to an insurance company each month. In all things, try to take good care of your cat without impoverishing yourself.
